  • Kauri Goddess of Fire Wall Art

This wall art piece represents Mahuika, the Maori goddess of fire

    What does Mahuika represent?

Mahuika is a Māori fire deity. Generally, Mahuika is female and the wife of the god Auahitūroa.

Made from New Zealand’s ancient kauri, a wood that has lain under the ground for many thousands of years.

Stands at about 1.5 m tall or 60″ tall and 2″ thick or 150cm tall and 50mm thick

The face is French polished and the texture is from the original chainsaw cut from when it was milled. The ridges from the chainsaw have been sanded and polished

  • Kauri Moon on a Cloudy Night Wall Art

Made from ancient kauri carved into a disc, when I first saw this as a slab of wood I could see the clouds in the grain patterns.

From there I carved the moon into a negative space.

    This piece is about 40″ x 40″ or 100cm x 100cm

  • Kauri Waiheke Island Map Wall Art

This is a totally natural piece made from the ancient Kauri root system.

It’s as close to the map of Waiheke Island as I can find.

It has been sanded and french polished.

    A great conversation piece.

    Measures about 40″ x 24″ or 100cm x 60cm
