    Made from ancient kauri, this is a wall sculpture featuring the Maori new year when the star system, “the pleadies” arrives in the morning sky during the winter.

    This piece is all about new life and birth. made from an ancient kauri slab with the birth canal and koru, being “new life arriving into the world”.

    Stands 60″ x 22″ wide or 150cm x 550mm wide. The material this is made from is 32,000 years old, one of the first slabs I worked with almost 40 years ago.
